Bow-Chicka-Wow-Wow

So, I am back and feeling good. How about all of you viewers? I hope you guys are getting ready. Things are going to be getting bigger and better and pretty fast. First off let me go out and say happy 23rd birthday to "Mag". Surprisingly he spent his birthday doing….Wait for it…..Wait for it……Halo 3 matchmaking and followed up that with some scene recording….More on that later I got some other news I want to get out there first.

Well I am not sure if everyone heard the news yet but we were chosen as the POW (Project Of the Week) over at Celtx.com (Best script writing software ever… and it’s free). Celtx has helped us double our views on our first promo shoot in about 3 days time. It is going great and the publicity has helped out greatly. Below are a couple key things from Shelia's review on 2152: Camp Newbii.

"This week's recipient of the Celtx Project of the Week is
Travis Fitzgerald, creator of an action-packed, Halo 3 Machinima, sci-fi comedy
called 2152: Camp Newbii."

"Camp Newbii refers to the official training grounds or
Boot Camp for the Elite Spartan Marine Corps which is essentially comprised of a
quirky chain of command of egos and misfits. Respected little, and often the
butt of jokes amongst the crowd at HQ, all ranks, from Private Lee to Colonel
Juice take a turn at attempting to impress, and prove they are worthy and an
asset to the Team. Cover-ups and calamities ensue however, with comical results."

"From developing the characters, writing the lines,
doing casting calls and voice over's, web design, and video promos, it's clear
that terrific effort has been put into this project to date…"

So there you have it. We have been alive for just under 4 months and have already achieved the POW status over at Celtx and the wonderful review has made this project that much more important to the whole crew. We are looking forward to winning more contests and gaining more exposure for the new series.

I mentioned before about recording some scenes last night and we did just that. I believe what we are going to do is do all of the scene recording for the first 8 episodes before we do any major post work so that it is all right there and once we get going we can keep going. We are still pushing for a premier episode to be live by the first weekend of march. That would mean getting 8 episodes completed and doing all the post work by then but we are hopeful. Either way you will not get a POS version because we are rushing but we do have an absolute deadline we have set for our selves and will be getting those out there for you soon.

As always thanks for checking in and look for a new promo with featuring Juice, Parker, and Lee by Monday night next week. By the way, spread the word! If you tell 3 friends and they tell 3 of theirs we can get this community growing.

Just to let everyone know we have completed all of our voice casting and have recorded most of the 1st two episodes and should have another video promo to hit the net sometime this week. It will be an interview with Colonel Juice and Major Parker.

Well for now I am going to get back to work on the script and get that done!

TMPS Moving Forward

For the first post of 2008 I just want to say thank you again for your loyal support. I hope that you all continue to follow us through the new year and enjoy some of the projects we have coming your way!

Yes, it's true! I did say projects. We have already announced 2152: Camp Newbii as our main focus and is the baby of TM Production Studio. But now I have been in talks with another member of the machinima community to bring their project to the TMPS brand. The idea here at TMPS is to bring the machinima community a network of shows. Some will be 1 time shows, some will be mini-series and some will be long running shows that will continue as long as we can possibly shove them down your throats. So with that being said nothing is set in stone that the current project we are looking at will be a definite addition to the TMPS brand but it looks more likely then not.

Well I guess right here is the best place to announce the two newest members to the 2152 Project. We have brought in Brian Hamilton and Massimo"Che" Di Carlo. Below is the current cast we have for our voice acting.

Colonel Juice- Travis Fitzgerald
Major Parker- Adam Magoon
Sergeant Pipes- CURRENTLY RECRUITING FOR THIS ROLE
Private Lee- Brian Hamilton
Recruit Cash-Robert Bilokrely
Recruit Cade- Massimo"Che" Di Carlo
Recruit Pole- Travis Fitzgerald
Recruit Oder- Brian Hamilton

With that being said Brian and Massimo"Che" Di Carlo thank you very much for working with us and we are glad to have the 2 of you join the project and look forward to listening to you voicing the characters that we created. Thank you and welcome aboard.

I have sketched out a rough time line for the show and due dates on a few things. I believe we will be able to give you a quality show sometime around the first week of September. Just joking seriously we are looking to get you the first episode by the first or second week of March. I know your wondering why we will be waiting almost 2 months to get you the first video but the main reason is because we want to have several videos compiled and ready to put out on a weekly basis when we release the series online for everyone to view. It should be good. Also just to let you know script after script is being pumped out by Mag and myself and the direction of the first season looks to be a great one with open endings and will lead into an awesome second season. I know, I know Mag is reading this thinking " Don't go getting a head of yourself, we haven't even released the first episode". But I want everyone to know I honestly believe we have a solid story to tell with a lot of comedy that will have everyone coming back for more. I just hope you all feel the same.

As you noticed above we are still looking for someone to do the voice of Sergeant Pipes and I would like to let you know if your interested you should send me an email at tfitzgerald@email.itt-tech.edu and we can work out the specifics.

On that note I am going to go get some sleep before a long day tomorrow. Again everyone please welcome Massimo"Che" Di Carlo and Brian to the team and we look forward to having you guys involved with your amazing talents and will be key assets to the success of this project. I also want to thank anyone who is reading this blog and supporting this project. I know we have some viewers from New York,NY to Seattle,WA back to Nashua,NH down to Pennsauken,NJ all the way down to Austin, TX and around the world to Adelaide, AUS and back to Rockland,DE . Thank you for your time and support we are happy to have gained your interest and hope that you continue to spread the word and our name out there so others can enjoy our upcoming projects.

Happy New Year....

First off I just want to wish everyone a Happy New Year!! This should be a good one since your following us over here at TM-Productions. Really thank you for the support everyone is showing and us over here it is helping to motivate this project and we are dedicated to giving the Machinima community a quality series that you can follow on a weekly basis.

I know I have discussed this with some insiders involved closely with the project but after discussing some information with my co-creator Mag last night we decided the format for season 1 will be 8 episodes being released every week followed by a 5 week hiatus and coming back with 8 more episodes with a 4 week hiatus and then the final 7-8 (If we can fit everything we want into 23 episodes then we may but could be dragged out an extra episode). So with that being said our first episode should be launched and available for everyone to download the first week of March and the series should continue to have fresh episodes available weekly except during the hiatus previously discussed (Would have been February but a certain key persons Xbox got the red ring of death!). I hope everyone is as excited as we are because I believe this project can and will surpass all expectation we have and hopefully you have.

Red VS Blue, who?

We hope to be able to make you feel that way. I can tell you that the few people that have a copy of any of the scripts from various episodes have told us the story is there and as long as we can direct the video this should catch on fast.

Last but not least the voice casting has been a long hard process but we are working through the struggles and are getting the final choices made and anyone who has been chosen has been sent a copy of the script and some have recorded the audio for episodes 1 and 2 so everything is coming together wonderfully. Also if you have only seen the Blog here we also have a website which should be getting some finishing touches over the next few days but check it out if you have a second.

First voice casting member confirmed!!!

We hear at TM Productions, Mag and Tee Would like to thank everyone who has tried out for the voice of Recruit Cash but the final dicision was made pretty much the moment we heard his "Nobody crosses the Cash line!" He preformed so well that we have some interesting things planned for this character. We introduce you to the voice of Recruit Cash; Rob Bilokrely(aka Blitzmidfielder on http://www.machinima.com/). Thank you Rob for being able to emulate the character we created and make him come to life.

As for anyone who is interested in sending in a voice sample I would suggest you still do and even if the voice you thought of would be good for Cash send his line in with that voice. We have someone we are considering using for a different character because of the voice they used for Cash. Please try to send these in I would hate to miss out on bringing someone into this project that would be a perfect fit like Rob Bilokrely because you decided to send your sample in to late.

Before I go I just wanted to say thanks again for following us along on this road to producing hopefully the next big Machinima hit! Once again welcome aboard Rob and we look forward to laughing at the lines when you send them in for your first script reading.

Voice Submissions

Please, if you plan to submit a voice sample for the casting tryouts do so by Friday night at 9 PM EST. We are trying to finalize all of the cast members and finish making our decisions before this weekend is over so we can go into the next week getting the voice script recorded and the videos together. I plan to contact all selected voice actors by Saturday night or Sunday morning with the offers. Thank you again for your interest and I hope to hear from you soon.

Casting Sucks And Some Other Stuff

Hello again everyone! I just figured I would update everyone with our status at TM-Productions. We are having fun but quite busy putting together the script.

First we write, rewrite, change some crap and rewrite again to make sure everything is the way we like it. Mag and Myself have been hard at working out the main story of this whole series to make sure it doesn't seem like "the same old crap". We are going to make this story stand out and have you wanting to invest time into the characters and getting to know who they really are. Over the time of the series we hope to explain; who they are, why they are who they are and how they got to where they are. We also have plans to make some spoof video's for different occasions, luckily a few things or in our favor to help make this work. Well I believe I am giving out to much info so I will move on…

Well since the title of this post is Casting Sucks, I figured I would touch base on what I mean. We have had several people submit voice sample since we announced the emails had been sent. It's not that I get to laugh at all of these voices that sucks, it's that I currently don't have room on the cast to ask everyone to join us in this project. Either way we have had some tough decisions over the past few days and a few more to come but we will be making final casting decisions by the end of this week. Also if for some reason you were not chosen to be part of the team please forgive me know and keep your mind open about coming on board in the future to help out with this project.

By the way after next week we should have a better idea of when the 1st few episodes will hit the net. Well, it's been great but I have some work to get done.

Finished

The script for Episode 101 is complete. What a relief. I mean seriously I didn't realize how much writing, editing and then re-writing this would take for one episode to convey what we wanted to the viewers. I have begun work on the second script. It is coming along well so far. So writing wise we are golden!

As for the video we have considered doing some promo shoots but not sure if we want to spend the time rather then just put out the first episode.

Update for the voice actors we have contacted I will be email you your tryout scripts tonight. The timeline for a turn around will be no later then Sunday night.

Research and Mini Update

So who said it wasn't a good idea to marry a women who's father was an ex-marine? Well I will tell you this having him readily accessible to answer any questions I had in reference to his Boot Camp experiences and the chain of command questions of the US Marine Corp was great sense having several questions regarding 2152 ranks. With that being said some characters have had their military ranks changed to show a correct level of rank based on the USA Marine Corp. So yeah we have been working on getting a few things done and out of the way so all of the characters can be outfitted with their proper armor and have everything work and make sense. We are trying to make this fun and have a comedy but don't want things contradicting themselves and make us look like we didn't put anytime into the creation of this story.

We have finished up the first script which is entitled "Camp Preparation". In this episode we try to introduce some of the main characters and let you get a feel for there attitudes and personalities. We are looking forward to completing about 7-8 more full scripts and produce the first 5 full episodes before releasing the first so you know you will have something to follow over a 5-6 week period. We do have a definite direction for this series and are not just "winging it" until something comes to us. Please keep your eyes out for the episodes because full blown production should be starting mid next week. Right now we are also developing a script with about 5 lines for each character that will express different tones and situations for our voice casting. Below I have listed out the different characters we have an who we currently have voice actors for and who is open.

The roles listed below are current cast members that will be needed definitely to carry the series along. If you are interested in receiving a copy of the test script and sending me a voice recording with 15 seconds of dead air between each line acted out with different emotions please contact me at tfitzgerald@email.itt-tech.edu
